If you represent a church who would like to start a project and would value CCDIA's help, please do get in touch (see 'contact CCDIA').

What Does it Take?

The crucial ingredient to starting a successful project is a group of key people within the church who have a vision for the children of the community. These people must be prepared to commit themselves to give time to the project and to pray for it continually.

A project generally costs about R$30 per child per month, so a small project with 30-40 children would expect to spend around R$1,000 per month. This cost can be reduced by seeking volunteers and donations, but for the remainder the project must find funding through the church or through other charitable organisations.

Finding funding, volunteers and donations requires a great deal of time and work. CCDIA is able to offer advice on how to do this and may be able to assist with donation of some materials, but the onus remains on the church.

Procedure

If you decide to start a project with the help of CCDIA, the process of preparation will take 3-6 months.

It begins by identifying the needs of your community and establishing your vision and long-term goals. The project team will be formed and will be helped to derive strategies and measurable objectives.

The team and leaders will be invited to visit other CCDIA projects to see how they run and to talk to the staff. Contact will be made with local schools, and companies and organisations approached for funding.

The rewards of running a CCDIA project are immeasurable. It is an honour and privilege to attend to the needs of the children of your community. You will be guaranteed a great deal of hard work and you will be guaranteed a great deal of joy!
